Sorry for the pitch-black at the beginning, it took me a minute to find the object with the camera and I wanted to keep this video in it’s entire unedited form. Skip to 1:10 for the footage. For just over a week now ufo’s have been “loitering” near my home. They are here from the time that night falls until dawn. I usually go out and begin observing them at about 8pm. I first noticed them the night of 19 Dec. 2011. I was standing outside staring at the night sky in central Florida from my home in the Villages at somewhere between 01:00am and 03:00am when I noticed that one of the stars I was looking at was unusually bright. To my surprise as I was looking at it, it began to “wiggle”. Over the nest minute or so the wiggling became movement back and forth on the horizontal axis. This object was about a 45 degree angle from me on the horizon and I could see that it was not only going back and forth in place but it was occasionally making small spirals in place as well. I looked around at stars in the local area to make sure I wasn’t imagining movement and the other stars in the area were static (not moving). I ran inside and got my friend and asked him to watch this “star” for a minute and tell me what he saw just to be entirely sure that I was not imagining the movement and as we watched it began to move back and forth and in zig-zag patterns. My best friend Denise and I spent a LOT of time on this last trip, experiencing the many food options at WDW. Usually I just go for the cheapest, which is the fast service places, since at a pop is already a lot of money. But that was the trade off this time…stay off property at a less expensive hotel, and be able to spend more money on food.
I am glad we went that route, because we got to experience a side of WDW that I had never really done before. One of my favorites was the Sci-fi Dine-in Theater, at the Hollywood Studios. I don’t know how I never knew this place existed until recently, because it is AWESOME! You get to sit inside of a ‘car’, in a nighttime setting with a drive in movie screen in front of you playing old b/w movies.
The most common negative point I read about this place beforehand was that the food value is low; the reason to come to this place is solely for the ambiance. While my food (chicken sand wich) was maybe at the higher end of mediocre, I wouldn’t necessarily agree with that. Maybe in the sense of repeat visits, the food value diminishes a bit…but man, it is so worth it for the experience!

Every spring break, we all decide how the quickest and cheapest way to leave Tallahassee. For those of us who live far away, flying is the only option. For students who live on the other side of Florida it’s not just a luxury, it’s a time saving tool that allows students a whole other day with their loved ones. Unfortunately, we would normally pay at most airports, exactly 0 one way at Tallahassee regional, to make that trip.
Then it becomes financially impossible for the average college student to fly. To put it in perspective, you’d pay twice as much flying from Tallahassee to Miami then from Miami to California.
This causes us to choose other options like driving or taking the bus that waste more time, which in my case is around 9 hours. While we are offered a few breaks as college students and even fewer chances to see our families and friends, even an hour as opposed to the extra eight I save flying would be worth it to those of us that realize time is precious.
So, why are the prices so high?
Low demand, high resource prices, small airport and little competition could be the answer. But Tallahassee airport serves a relatively small community as compared to its surrounding major cities—Jacksonville and Panama, which both have more tourism, higher demand and cheaper prices. I did my homework and asked FSU Professor Calhoun, a microeconomics faculty member, who said “that the governments used to pay the Tallahassee airport using our tax money to lower prices, but now they don’t anymore.”
I think you can’t blame non-flyers for not wanting to pay for expenses in the midst of an economic depression. Calhoun also mentioned that “resource prices, which differ from airport to airport, also affect ticket prices,” which according to the Tallahassee airports, financials are very high fuel wise and can be partly responsible for these high prices we see for tickets today.
Maybe the lobbyist and Florida politicians who’s flight in and out of Tallahassee are funded directly or indirectly by our tax money can support a change, maybe some competition can lead to cheaper rates on the part of Tallahassee airport and can help get students the most out of their spring break as well as putting up revenues and possibly increasing demand and tourism generated by lowering prices. Or, maybe I have to experience time consuming, yet relatively cheaper bus rides as my only option to get back home.

As I was flying VFR traffic patterns in Orlando (KMCO) I decided to just record a short bit. Includes taxi and take off on Runway 18 Right. Just before take off the winds changed to the opposite direction, thats why the take off was a bit shaky. Yes it was overcast but the winds were still ok for VFR flight Might upload rest of flight later though the footage was not very good. Video was recorded live during one of my VATSIM flights.
